Al Jazeera English Finds Local Outlet

SOC Grad Freelances From Cairo for Associated Press

SOC graduate Danielle Desnoyers arrived in Cairo in September 2008 with no job and only the contacts she made through Prof. Gentile's Foreign Correspondence class. Shortly after she began working as a freelance photojournalist with the Associated Press. She also began to freelance with the International Herald Tribune's paper in Cairo, the Daily News Egypt. Making connections through Cairo's tight-knit expat community, she was able to start proofreading and editing at a few magazines, as well.

AU Grad Freelances From Costa Rica

Kelly Moynihan graduated from American University in 2008 with a major in Journalism and a minor in Spanish Language. Originally from New Jersey, Moynihan moved to Costa Rica in January to improve her Spanish skills. She is currently freelancing for the Tico Times, an English language newspaper in founded in 1956 by U.S. newswoman Elizabeth Dyer.
